Air Uganda Grounded

The Ugandan Government has suspended Air Uganda's air operator's certificate (AOC), grounding its three CRJ200S and a MD-87 pending recertification. The Ugandan Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) on June 18 suspended the licences of all Ugandan carriers running international routes. Air Uganda CEO Cornwell Muleya, said the grounding came after the ICAO concluded a review of UCAA systems, structures and operations on June 17, which found shortcomings in its processes and the application of international rules. All Ugandan airlines flying overseas must reapply for their AOCs.
