GERMAN DEVELOPER Wingcopter's latest small UAV can deliver three packages to different locations during one flight, thanks to its 'triple drop' mechanism.The newly announced Wingcopter 198 can carry 6kg payloads over 75km on a single charge or 110km with less payload. It can deliver three packages to multiple destinations per flight, or alternatively two medium-sized packages or one large package.Designed to drop off goods in harder-to-reach locations such as islands, mountainous areas or offshore platforms, the 198's 80kts top speed enables on-demand express deliveries, Wingcopter said in a statement.Satellite-based 5G is the main communications link between aircraft and operator, the company reported, with the system's detect-and-avoid software combining traffic information, collision avoidance, remote electronic identification technology and visual artificial intelligence to enable accurate delivery, precision landing and obstacle avoidance. The control software enables a single operator to fly the 198 from anywhere in the world and control up to ten systems simultaneously.
