The assistance system has a delivery vehicle (31) along a delivery route determined by the delivery addressee. An automatic driving mode is provided for the delivery vehicle and a wireless communicating mobile control unit (20) is provided for controlling the automatic driving mode from outside the delivery vehicle and for displaying route information. The automatic driving mode is activated and deactivated by the mobile control unit. The automatic driving mode has two driving functions, such as recall signal-function and sequence-functions.
