KF-16 upgrade underway at Edwards

REPUBLIC OF Korea Air Force (ROKAF) KF-16D Block 52N 92-4046 is being used as a trials aircraft at Edwards Air Force Base in California, as part of the ongoing Korea F-16 Update Programme. After modifications were conducted by Lockheed Martin, the aircraft has been temporarily assigned to the US Air Force/412th Test Wing's 416th Flight Test Squadron 'Skulls' to test various elements of the ROKAF modernisation. It is wearing USAF titles and markings while it is under USAF control.On April 8, the 412th Test Wing announced that, as part of this set of trials, the aircraft had carried out the successful drop test of a GBU-39 small-diameter bomb on February 26,while flying over the Precision Impact Range Area at Edwards.
