During a conference call from Kabul on October 31, US Air Force Brigadier General Jay Lindell provided an update on re-equipment plans for the Afghan National Army Air Corps (ANAC). He confirmed that the ANAC will add four Antonov An-32 transports, plus 16 M1-17 transport helicopters and six M1-24 attack helicopters over the next six months. Lindell is the commander of the Combined Air Power Transition Force, which is the aviation component of US.Central Command's Combined Security Transition Command Afghanistan.
