THE GROUNDING of the Boeing 737 MAX continues, with the return to commercial operations for the aircraft looking highly unlikely for some time yet. The 737 MAX has been grounded since March after the crash of Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 earlier that month, the second disaster to involve the 737 MAX 8 after the October 2018 crash of Lion Air Flight 610 off Indonesia. The two crashes killed a total of 346 people.
