New Bids In for CSAR-X Competition

On january 7 Boeing submitted its revised proposal offering the HH-47 combat search and rescue (CSAR) helicopter in response to Amendment Five of the US Air Force's original Request for Proposals (RFP) in the CSAR-X competition. Boeing had originally been awarded the CSAR-X contract in November 2006 (see Headline News, December 2006, p5) but after two rounds of competitor protests were upheld by the Government Accountability Office, bidding was re-opened.
