VH-71s Commence US Testing

Naval air Systems Command announced on January 10 that the first two AgustaWestland VH-71 Kestrel helicopters for the US Presidential transport role have now entered the flight test phase of the development programme with the US Navy and Marine Corps at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland. Navy-owned test vehicles TV-2 (ex G-17-002) and TV-5 (ex G-17-005) have both now arrived at Pax River, to where they were airfreighted on board USAF C-17As. They were flown over from Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton, Somerset, which is close to the AqustaWestland factorv at Yeovil.
