The oldest dedicated bomber unit in the RAF is No.lX(B) Squadron, which is Currently based at RAF Marham, Norfolk and is equipped with the Tornado GR4.rnWireless Flight of the Royal Flying Corps Headquarters was renamed IX (B) Squadron at St Omer, France. In March 1915 the unit disbanded and re-formed at Brooklands in Surrey on April 1, 1915 with BE2Cs. It was the first squadron to be equipped with wireless telegraphy, and was used to direct artillery from the air.
