First Chinese A320 Flies

On May 18 the initial Airbus A320-232 (B-501L, c 3591) assembled at the Final Assembly Line China (FALC) at Tianjin in Tianjin province made its maiden flight (adding to First Chinese A320 Ready, June, p13). The aircraft took off from Tianjin International Airport at 1042hrs and landed at 1456hrs, under the control of Harry Nelson, the Vice President Production Flight Tests and Experimental Test Pilot Philippe Pellerin.
