A record number of 432 original new works by 142 artists have been selected for the 40th Annual Summer Exhibition of the Guild of Aviation Artists held in London at the Mall Galleries. Among the sponsors is Key Publishing's FlyPast magazine, which also supports the event with the FlyPast Fellows Award for Excellence and a prize of ￡1,000, one of a number of awards given out at the exhibition. The event will be opened by the Chief of the Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sir Jock Stirrup on Monday, July 19. Running until July 25, a wide range of aviation subjects has been covered in a variety of styles, and there are even several ceramic works.
