UN's Indian Mi-35s Withdrawn

The withdrawal of Indian Air Force Mil Mi-35 gunship helicopters from the Congo has been completed after the last batch was airlifted by Antonov An-124 heavy transports directly to Chandigarh. There they will be serviced and reconfigured for Indian operational conditions by No.3 Base Repair Depot. The Indian Air Force had deployed 12 Mi-8/17 and Mi-25/35s in the Congo and has another nine in the Sudan to provide logistics and fire power support to United Nations (UN) ground forces.
