LEAP-1A Certified

The CFM International LEAP-1A engine has been jointly certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). The engine is one of two powerplant choices on the Airbus A320neo, the other being the Pratt & Whitney PW1100G-JM, which received FAA approval in December 2014 and EASA clearance in October 2015. Variants of the LEAP will power other new narrowbody aircraft. The LEAP-1 B is the sole engine for the Boeing 737 MAX (the first of which was rolled out on December 8) and the LEAP-1C will power China's COMAC C919.
