It doesn't take a brain surgeon to understand the manpower problems facing the HVACR trade - there is not a big talent pool of people looking to make HVACR a career. Sadly, the biggest barrier to entry into the field has been built by the industry itself. HVACR businesses, whether they are manufacturers, distributors, or contractors, need to do a better job promoting HVACR as a career, something they have stubbed their toes on in the past. At least that is the majorityrnopinion of a group of 114 Ferris State University (FSU) HVACR program students who recently participated in a NEWS survey.rnFSU student Derek Strong said, "If people were informed about the industry and what can be done within it, people would be more encouraged to check it out."
