Decline in JFK cargo business not airport's fault

John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) has faced shrinking cargo business over the last half decade, despite processing 1.3 million tonnes of airfreight last year. Recently, the city Economic Development Corp. issued a request for proposal to study how to increase and expand the air cargo business at the airport. Before beginning, one should take a hard look at why we are seeing this decline and what may be done to reverse it.
