SIR—Ageing is associated with a decrease in physical functioningnand mobility [1, 2]. The performance of basicnactivities of daily living can become progressively difficultn[2, 3]. Furthermore, the prevalence of illness increases withnadvancing age, which may also cause functional limitations.nMaintaining physical activity in later life is related to a slowernrate of motor decline, less disability and a lower incidence ofnspecific chronic diseases [4–7]. Therefore, accurate knowledgenof daily physical activity patterns is essential fornassessment and intervention purposes.
