The national power utility has been in talks with Empower for some weeks on the construction of a 36 MW power plant.rnAccording to our sources, the Arafat power station in Nouakchott, which currently generates 40 MW, received two new turbines with a global capacity of 10 MW in mid-December. The turbines, built by Finland's Wartsila, were ordered 18 months ago after Mauritania received a loan of roughly USD 10 million from the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD).
