Marathon Oil yet to pay Tchicuate block fine in full

Marathon Oil was supposed to have paid$50m to the oil ministry last year as apenalty for returning its permit withoutcarrying out any exploration well. Weunderstand that the US operator of theTchicuate block has yet to settle its fine infull. Marathon operated this offshorelicence since 2014 and opted not to drillwells before the exploration period ended inAugust 2019. It also did not submit anextension request to the authorities.
