Etame Marin permit set to become next victim of big Sasol sell-off

Just a few weeks after putting its DE-8 exploration permit up for sale (Africa Intelligence, 20/07/20), South Africa's Sasol group is continuing its withdrawal from Gabon. According to our information, it is looking to divest itself of its 27.75% stake in the Etame Marin offshore permit (21,000 bpd). The block, which includes the Ebouri, Etame, North Tchibala and Avouma fields, is operated by American group Vaalco. Companies interested in the acquisition had until the end of September to come forward. In a document addressed to potential buyers which Africa Intelligence has seen, Sasol indicates that it is ready to consider a single offer for both the Etame and DE-8 permits.
