Luanda and GE defend themselves against Aenergy over one billion dollar turbines

It took the Luanda authorities and General Electric (GE) nearly four months to present their line of defence. With help from US law firms Gibson, Dunn and Crutcher, Ehrenstein Sager and Kleinberg, Kaplan, Wolff and Cohen, they have filed two judicial briefs to the Southern District of New York court. They hope these will serve to dismantle the main arguments of the complaint filed against them by the Portuguese company Aenergy on 7 May. Aenergy is seeking $550m in damages from GE and the Angolan state over Luanda's "illegal" termination of contracts concluded in August 2017.
