A new study into the time taken for passengers to board aircraft claims that the current method used by airlines to seat passengers starting from the rear is also the most inefficient. Research by Dr Jason Steffen published in the Journal of Air Transport, claims that computer simulation shows that aircraft can be loaded more quickly if passengers board by alternative rows beginning with window seats, followed by middle and aisle seats.
