FAA relaxes rules for personal electronic devices, EASA to follow suit

The US Federal Aviation Adminstration has relaxed restrictions on the use ot passengers using personal electronic devices (PEDs), such as smartphones, iPads and other gadgets below 10,000ft.Passengers will still need to enable 'flight mode1 on these devices. Following the ruling, Delta and JetBlue became the first airlines on 1 November to take advantage of the new regulations in the cabin.
