摘要

A time-averaged likelihood-ratio test (LRT) is an appropriate method of detecting signals of known duration and unknown arrival time. The loss resulting from ignorance of arrival time is found by comparing it with the LRT for known arrival time. The time-averaged LRT is also compared with a similar test based on the maximum likelihood ratio. Monte Carlo simulations were used to evaluate the performance of the LRT tests. Comparisons are also made with energy detection (ED).
