Comments on 'Passive target tracking using maximum likelihood estimation'

The author comments on the work of X.-J. Tao et al. (ibid. vol. 32, pp. 1348-54, 1996 and points out that some of the concepts introduced are debatable. This is backed up with some practical examples.
