Chris farara takes a detailed look at the structure, controls and systems of Sydney Camm's exceptional naval fighter, which had to be able to withstand the stresses of high speed - and landing on carriers.rnAtypical stressed-skin structure, with light-alloy frames, stringers and skinning, the Sea Fury fuselage was divided into three sections aft of the mild-steel engine firewall bulkhead, on the front of which was the high-tensile-steel-tube engine mounting. The centre fuselage incorporated upper and lower false longerons alongside the cockpit and over the wing cut-out, joined by ten frames carrying six stringers each side. A panel on top and ahead of the cockpit gave access to the instrument panel, and ahead of this were the main and auxiliary fuel tanks and oil tank.
