Between 1946 and 1965 nearly 100 Swedes served with the Imperial Ethiopian Air Force (IEAF). Indeed, until 1961 every IEAF Commander-in-Chief was a Swedish national.rnThe air arm was largely established as a result of the personal relationship forged between Ethiopian Emperor Haile Selassie I and the Swedish Count Carl-Gustaf von Rosen during the 1935-36 Abyssinian War.
