Another former air cadet artist is Aeroplane's regular contributor Timothy O'Brien GAvA. Tim followed a very similar pattern to Roy, by submitting some pen drawings and articles on famous pilots to the Air Cadet newspaper in 1988 while he, too, was a Flight Sergeant. These developed into a regular series. With such similar backgrounds and careers Roy still follows Tim's Hairy Moment pen drawings in Aeroplane with particular interest. Tim has a great passion for the ATC and having been a member of 1936 (Newton) Sqn wrote the fascinating book Last Post At Newton, first published in 2008, which is profusely illustrated with a mix of photographs and Tim's artwork.
