Rare Corsaire to fly in France

At Strasbourg-Entzheim Airport in eastern France, the Ailes Historiques du Rhin (AHR) has recently taken delivery of a rare 1930s Mauboussin M-129 Corsaire. This follows the discovery of this rare former French Air Force trainer by AHR member Robert Collin in the city of Troyes in the Champagne region of Northern France. Originatingfrom a 1931 design collaboration between Pierre Mauboussin and Louis Peyret, ten M-129s were delivered to the French Air Force in late 1939/early 1940. Following the occupation they were hidden away from the Germans until the liberation during 1944 when the aircraft were disinterred and put into service initially with the French Forces of the Interior (FFI), and subsequently with the Armee de I'Air.
