The Fliegendes Museum in Grossenhain, Germany, has completed the restoration of its airworthy Morane 317 Parasol. Subject to receiving the relevant paperwork in time, the rare French trainer will be available for pleasure flying and airshow appearances in spring 2012. For many years the Morane was suspended from the ceiling at the Frankfurt Rhine-Main airport, painted as F-BBOE. It was later acquired by the Koch family and stored in a disassembled state, before the restoration programme began. One of only half a dozen Morane Parasol monoplanes still flying, it is now painted in French Air Force markings.
