The scheme adopted by the P-51's owner Shaun Patrick represents a Mustang IVa, KH774/GA-S (AAF serial 44-11602), flown on ground attack missions over the Balkans and along the Adriatic coast in 1945 by No 112 Squadron pilot 2nd Lt Ellis Frederick Blatchford, a member of the South African Air Force. 112 was nicknamed 'The Shark Squadron' and became very famous for adopting shark-mouth markings, first used on its P-40s in the Western Desert in 1941. From February 1945 the unit was re-equipped with Mustang IVs. These were based at Lavariano in Italy and remained there until December 1946 when 112 was disbanded at Treviso.
