First Australian 'warbird' Hurricane flies in NSW

Ross Pay took newly-refurbished Hawker Hurricane Ⅻ VH-JFW up for a 20-minute test flight at Scone, New South Wales on 2 October, the first time an example of the legendary Sydney Camm-designed fighter had flown in Australia for 73 years. The former Royal Canadian Air Force machine has been rebuilt after suffering damage while being transported from Canada during early 2014. All of the woodwork was either replaced or refurbished and the fuselage re-fabriced at Luskintyre Aircraft Restoration in the Hunter Valley region, 30 miles north-west of Newcastle. All of the hydraulic and electrical systems were overhauled by Pays Air Service at Scone.
