The Cotswold Airport (Kemble)-based Midair Squadron has called in the receivers, and the fleet, including Britain's only airworthy English Electric Canberra, will be sold. The Midair Squadron was launched by Mike Davis in 2013. Its flagship was former No 39 (1 PRU) Squadron Canberra PR9 XH134/G-OMHD, retired from RAF service during the summer of 2006. It made its first post-restoration flight at Cotswold Airport on 19July 2013, and its flying display debut at the Goodwood Revival meeting that September. It became a popular attraction on the 2014 show circuit, often accompanied by Midair's Hunter T7XL577/G-XMHD.The operator's second two-seat Hunter, XL600/G-RAXA, never flew in Midair's ownership. The fleet made no show appearances during 2015, but a return had been hoped for in 2016, with the owners looking to gain charitable status to help fund the high costs of vintage jet operation.
