Life can take you in unexpected directions. As one door closes, another opens, with all that can bring. New possibilities present themselves, hitherto undreamedof opportunities become reality. This was definitely the case for Christophe Jacquard. For reasons beyond his control, his desired career path was suddenly closed off. Undeterred, he headed down a route he'd never previously considered, and was very successful at it. With sufficient means at his disposal, aviation - eventually, historic aviation - became more attainable. Since the early 1990s, Christophe has been one of mainland Europe's best-known warbird operators, owning and displaying some immaculate, potent and distinctive machinery. The Spitfire with the contra-rotating propellers, the first Flug Werk FW 190 to fly regularly, the Sea Fury with the smoke generators: all, and more, have been in this characterful Frenchman's hands, and he talks about them very entertainingly.
