Lufthansa Junkers to be grounded

German flag carrier Lufthansa has announced that Junkers Ju 52/3m D-CDLH Berlin-Tempelhof, which has flown for more than 30 years bearing its original registration, D-AQUI, is to be retired to a museum. A statement released on 15 April said, "The aircraft is 83 years old and will be preserved in an appropriate framework for the future and made available to the public. Where the future location of the Ju 52 will be is in discussion with renowned institutions". Until then, D-CDLH is hangared at the Lufthansa base at Hamburg, having been moved there by road from Munich in early April.
