摘要

I thank Prof. Baveye for addressing the question regarding the loss of information during upscaling. His presentation makes it apparent that there are legitimate ways of interpreting the statements that I proposed which are different from what I intended. In this response, I hope to re-address this issue and clarify the meaning of my statement that "averaging per se does not lead to a reduction in the information content of any particular problem"[5], and illustrate that Baveye [1] and I probably share the same perspective.
