Nonwovens from a cleanroom environment for medical applications

National Nonwovens of Easthampton, Massachusetts, USA, has invested in a new nonwoven line contained within a cleanroom environment. The air-laid needlepunch line is 2.4 m in width and is equipped with state-of-the-art electronics to control temperature, humidity, dusting and contamination. For now, the company says it is focusing on using the line to make medical products, such as those for advanced wound care.
