Malta Freeport selects electric STS spreaders

Malta Freeport has ordered six STS45E all-electric separating twinlift ship-to-shore spreaders. The contract represents the largest order to date for the model.Bromma said the STS45E is the first all-electric separating twinlift spreader in container handling. At 11 tonnes, it is much lighter than any other ship-to-shore separating twinlift available, and uses far less energy than heavier separating twinlifts - an estimated US$40,000 in lifetime energy savings based on 10 years of spreader service, according to the manufacturer.
