Mitsi's new water baby

The unitary air conditioning industry's top two companies are going head-to-head in a move to make the highly popular VRF technology available in R410A, water-cooled versions. Within a couple of weeks of Mitsubishi Electric announcing new versions of its City Multi WR2 VRF system, VRV pioneer Daikin announced the introduction of its own water-based R410A system, VRV-WII. Mitsubishi's latest R410A version of its pioneering City Multi WR2, water-cooled VRF is available in 8, 10, 16 and 20hp units - all fully inverter driven and delivering COPs from 3.5-7. The WR2 was first launched in 2000 and since then over 1,000 systems have been installed across Europe. Enabling pipe runs of up to 400m, each WR2 condenser can supply up to 16 indoor units. The sealed water loop can transfer energy between different condensers, and can link to other sources of heat, such as boilers, solar panels and ground water sources to provide incredible efficiencies.
