Mitsubishi Electric can claim to have led the way with a simple, cost-effective means of replacing R22 systems over five years ago. Then, of course, R22 was still freely available and Mitsubishi's M Series Replace units were promoted on the basis of the energy efficiency increases which could be gained from the new equipment. The product, launched in the summer of 2004, enabled anyone with an existing R22 system, of any make, from 2.5kw right up to a large VRF system, to use the existing pipes and wiring, whilst changing and upgrading the indoor andrnoutdoor units.
