You could be forgiven for thinking that these are a sample of ICAEW and CIPFA members' arguments against the proposed integration. In fact they are published quotes from a member of the Institute of Personnel Management (IPM) and a member of the Institute of Training and Development (ITD). I last looked at these cuttings 11 years ago on joining the new institute created by a merger of these two bodies - the Institute of Personnel and Development (IPD). As the IPD's media relations manager, I needed to understand the reasons why there had been such vocal opposition prior to the members' vote on the merger.
