The US Big Four firms are losing clients in droves, and dumping significant numbers, too. Meanwhile the larger mid-tier firms are reaping the benefits. This trend, which is largely blamed on the strain of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance requirements on client pockets and firm resources, is arguably being echoed to a lesser degree, and for differing reasons, in the UK. However, it threatens to intensify dramatically.
