CGT: the flat rate is coming

From 6 April 2008 individuals, partnership and trusts will face a flat rate of capital gains tax (CGT) of 18%.There is also a new relief - entrepreneurs' relief- which was announced on 24 January 2008. On balance, there are likely to be more losers than winners as the changes look set to net the Exchequer £700m in 2008/09 alone.
