This idea was first announced in the November 2008 pre-Budget report, so will have taken almost two and a half years to implement.rnAt the time of writing, HMRC expected its new, combined, computer system to be in operation before the end of July. Known as NPS - national insurance and PAYE service - it combines the national insurance recording system, NIRS, and the PAYE elements of the Computerisation of PAYE: COP. However, three glitches have already been identified.
