Professionals who completed their accountancy qualifications this summer face a far more positive market than their peers in recent years. Since last year there has been an increase in recruitment activity across all sectors and at all levels. There is now significant demand for newly qualified accountants moving from practice into their first commercial role and accountants with between three to five years' post-qualified experience. Confidence is improving, which means many more professionals are starting to look at the external market and approach recruitment consultants to discuss the opportunities and options available. At the same time, salaries are creeping upwards after an extended period of little change.
