PAC SLAMS LACK OF ACADEMY VALUE-FOR-MONEY CHECKS

The Public Accounts Committee has criticised the system of checking for value-for-money in academy schools in England.The committee of MPs also highlighted some academy schools as having 'worrying spending' patterns, including extremely high salaries for some staff. Committee chair Margaret Hodge said it was not clear who was responsible for ensuring value.
