PAC slams government's lack of financial management

The parliamentary spending watchdog chair criticised the Government for not doing enough to promote financial management in Whitehall. Speaking at the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) annual conference in London last week, chair of the Public Accounts Committee Margaret Hodge said: 'Central government has taken a while to understand the need for strong financial management.'
