We have seen the annual wave of announcements and annual report releases for December year ends over the last month or so. Throughout 2011 there was a swell of momentum and comment on reducing the complexity of disclosures, 'cutting the clutter' and 'losing the excess baggage' as well as a changing landscape for narrative reporting. The Financial Reporting Review Panel has also continued to criticise excessive use of boiler plate disclosures, especially where they appear to have no relevance to the company disclosinq them.
