Employers are facing a perfect storm of payroll modernisation, automatic pension enrolment and real time information requirements, experts are warning. With the consultation period on draft legislation for HMRC's real time information system now closed, PwC says a tight timetable could cause major issues for business and warns on the likelihood of glitches when the system first comes online. Set to be introduced in October 2013, it will require all employers to transmit payslip data on tax, NIC and other deductions to the taxman at the time employees are paid, rather than once a year.
