LOWER RATE BENEFITS IN KIND CONTINUES

The official rate of interest fell from 4% to 3.25% at the start of this tax year and it has been announced that it will remain at this level until at least 5 January 2015. This is the rate against which interest paid on overdrawn directors' loan accounts and other employment-related loans is compared when arriving at the value of the benefit of an interest-free or low-interest loan.
