Accountants in the UK are enjoying a record £2.4bn bonus pot in 2015/2016, an increase of £200m on 2014/2015, with the overall bonus pot increasing by £800m since 2009/10 when it stood at £1.6bn, research from recruiters Marks Sattin shows. For the 2015/16 financial year the average individual bonus for accountants was 20% of basic salary - the equivalent of £13,000. This is up from £10,730 (16% of basic salary) in 2014/2015, representing an increase of 21 % in monetary terms as well as the highest individual bonus figure recorded since 2011/12.
